Thames Crossing Action Group represents those who are opposed to the hugely destructive proposed Lower Thames Crossing.
The proposed LTC is supposed to be about fixing the problems that we all suffer with due to the Dartford Crossing. However, Highways England’s own data shows that the Dartford Crossing would still be over capacity even if LTC goes ahead. Highways England are also not considering how traffic will migrate between the two crossings, if LTC goes ahead, when there are incidents, and there are not adequate connections, which would result in more chaos, congestion and pollution.
The estimated cost of the proposed LTC is now up to £8.2bn of taxpayers money, more expensive per mile than HS2.
The proposed LTC would create a toxic triangle that would destroy homes, lives, health, greenbelt, ancient woodland, solar farms, agricultural land (including grade 1 listed), widlife and habitat, communities, and so much more. Put simply the proposed LTC is not fit for purpose.
As a group we believe that ‘Together we are stronger’ and we will continue to work with and represent those who are opposed to the LTC as we all fight to stop it.
