OUR OBJECTIVES (what are we trying to do)
The Southend Zimbabwean Network exists to support the Zimbabwean community in Southend-on-Sea, Essex and works to achieve the following objectives:-
To bring together the Zimbabwean community living in Southend and District
To represent the Zimbabwean community in its dealings with the statutory authorities, voluntary bodies and other organisations
To provide information and other services to the Zimbabwean community
To encourage the Zimbabwean community to integrate into the wider local community
To welcome members of the local community to support the objectives of SZN
To ensure the voice of the Zimbabwean community is heard it its dealings with the public
To act and represent individual Zimbabweans’ interests as and when required
To facilitate any other activities that are in the best interest of the Zimbabwean community
To raise funds to achieve the above objectives
The Southend Zimbabwean Network (SZN) was initiated in August 2009, in partnership with the Turning Tides Neighbourhood Management Partnership and support from The Rosca Trust
We hope to encourage, support and enable the Zimbabwean people in Southend to come together through one voice
SZN is a fully inclusive organisation and membership is open to all who have an interest in supporting the local Zimbabwe community regardless of race or religion.
OUR AIM
To facilitate and support the needs of the Zimbabwean community in Southend and, as a fully inclusive organisation, welcome those outside the Zimbabwean community who support our aims and objectives

To open a drop-in centre for the community to socialise, promote cultural identity and access information and expert advice
