Working to enhance the lives of the people of Harlow & beyond since 1999. Proud of our award-winning volunteers!
Working for change
We work to alleviate the effects of disadvantage, deprivation and social exclusion through imaginative projects that support, enable and develop people and organisations in the local community.
Community Builder: Working with Harlow Seniors to reduce Loneliness and Social Isolation. Each club meets for 2 hours where we get to meet new people, make new friends, sit and chat, play games and enjoy refreshments.
Mondays and Fridays – 10.30am – 12.30pm – meet in the café/bar area at Harlow Playhouse.
Rainbow’s Community Builder programme enables older residents in Harlow to identify issues that are affecting their lives and with support, bring their idea to life, get more involved in their community and solve their own problems.
In order to tackle the issue of increased loneliness and isolation, we support older residents to create and maintain weekly social and activity hubs, and we organise special outings and events.
Kelly, Jenny, Carol, Jemma and Ron work with communities to set up weekly social clubs across the town.
Each club meets for 2 hours where we get to meet new people, make new friends, sit and chat, play games and enjoy refreshments.

Bereavement
The Bereavement Café offers a place to meet and connect with other local people who have had similar experiences to our own. It is a safe place to speak openly about our experiences, or simply just meet up for a coffee or a cup of tea.
Anyone who has experienced the loss of someone close to them, no matter how long ago, is welcome to attend a Bereavement Café. It is free to attend and you are welcome to drop in at any time. The atmosphere is very relaxed and informal, just like a real café, with hot drinks and refreshments.
Our Bereavement Café at Harlow Playhouse runs on the last Friday of every month from 10.30am – 12.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
