Phoenix resource centre charity aims to enhance and improve community lives through our ethos of preservation and protections of the environment. We promote the reduction of industry surplus and unwanted resources going to landfill. These resources are then utilised to kickstart community projects that are needed. Positively benefiting the community by tackling and supporting a diverse cross section of those that live within Harlow and abroad.
We work with other charitable and voluntary organisations, and are always happy to facilitate and support partnerships to benefit the needs of the immediate communities, they operate within. Some of the projects we run in Harlow are listed below:
1.      The Phoenix Resource centre offers, a wide range of materials and products that can be used in art and craft, which is perfect for educational organisations. There are also products that can be used for fundraising, tombola’s, raffle prizes etc.
2.      Community shop, which offers a wide range of new everyday items, at real affordable prices. We also regularly give away products, ranging from food items to household items
3.      Community kitchen, which provides free breakfasts to all , either directly at the site or through community groups, Holiday clubs, local church organisations and individuals. We also distributed food produce to those who are from marginalised community groups and referred through the local DWP. These are often those that find themselves in crisis, but fall through the gaps of the of crisis response organisations, as they do not quite fit the criteria in their current circumstances.
4.      live lounge, a music led venue which supports local grass roots musicians/youth programmes and hosts other third sector groups throughout the week
5.      In the Making- A partnership project with Harlow college and their additional needs learning department. Providing craft class workshops and real time employability skills from a structured retail environment.
