Brand new pre-school in the heart of Takeley, Essex
Pixies Pre-School started out as a “wouldn’t it be great” discussion between two sisters one Sunday afternoon. Two years later and we are finally doing it! Inspired by our own little pixies, who are now all at school.
We wanted to open a preschool that follows the Early Years Foundation Stage, with a variety of both adult-led and child-initiated activities to further the children’s knowledge of their surroundings and to fulfil their full potential.

When do sessions take place?
We are open Term-Time only for 38 weeks a year, closely following the local primary schools (Rose Acres and Takeley) term dates.
We are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm. We offer full and half day sessions:
Full Day
9am – 3pm
Morning Session
9am – 12pm
Afternoon Session
12pm – 3pm
An option for a longer morning session is also available (9am-1pm).
What are the rates?
The hourly rate is £5.50 per hour.
Children that are still in nappies and are not yet toilet trained are to provide their own nappies.
Children doing a full day session/s are required to bring in their own packed lunch and water bottle. Please note that we are a nut-free preschool and promote healthy eating.
Is there a registration fee?
Our registration fee is £25. This is a non-refundable fee that holds you child’s place at the preschool and covers the registration process. This is payable via BACS. Payment instructions for the Registration Fee is included on the Registration Form.
